information about Soul Kitchen on 1-st Sovietskaya
Since november 2012 Soul Kitchen hostel has been moved to the new
location and became so much better and a little bit bigger then before, you
can find it under the name Soul Kitchen Junior. So it means that now we
have only one hostel on Moika river, the old one near the train station is not
there anymore.
We all have a nice memories about the previous place that we won't forget
but Soul Kitchen goes forward and takes it to the the next level: it now has
not one but two beautiful and very spacious common areas and a huge
common balcony facing the river, instead of one computer we have three
MacBooks for the guests, we have 4 common and 10 private showers
instead of only 2 we had before, and amazing kitchen.
We've opened our first hostel in 2009, we had lots of fun there and in 2010
Soul Kitchen won the Award of the best hostel in Russia on hostelworld.com.
"Soul Kitchen Hostel Junior – St. Petersburg’s Best Hostel"
That's what Liz says in her travel blog" ...They really have thought through the needs of travelers and gone out of their way to make sure these needs are met..."

The nicest blog post about Soul Kitchen Junior hostel
This is probably the most wonerful blog post about our hostel,
that we have ever had! That's what Brooke wrote about us in her blog:
"Hostels of the world, I love you all for who you are, but when
it comes to Soul Kitchen Jr., there is just no way for me to not
gush forth oodles of “bests” and “favorites”. "
"I love how they’ve kept many aspects of the old building in the
new. An old wood beam has been restructured to create the big
light fixture in this room. The old wood doors have been cut and
kept to make the sides of the reception and computer room desks.
An old sewing machine has been turned into a desk and coat hook.
Old tiles have been used for mosaics and accents in other places.
A dingy retro bathtub has been repainted and used as decoration
in the bathroom. I love every bit of their resourcefulness and style."

She tells many little things, that she likes at our place,
Thank you Brooke!
